Biography
Hello! My name is Asana and I am a masters student in the department of Microbiology and Immunology. Entering university I did not anticipate research to be my chosen career field but as I learned more about it and had the chance to be involved, the more confident I became in knowing this was something I wanted to be a part of. Currently, my research project is focused on a protein in Mycobacterium tuberculosis and this was inspired by my directed studies where I had a the opportunity to learn more about the uniqueness of Mtb as a bacteria and the great impact it has on our population. When I am not in the lab you’ll likely find me either painting, on outdoor walks, or eating a delicious meal.
