About Me
My name is Caitlyn and I’m a 5th year Integrated Sciences student. I was first interested in getting into research after my first year of undergrad, so I emailed basically every professor I could find that was doing research in my areas of interest. I was able to get two volunteering positions in a microbiology lab and a genetics lab, and this experience helped me get a co-op position in clinical research. I’m excited to continue to be a part of URO this year, and to get involved in the research coach program!
How did I first get into research?
I got into research by reaching out to several labs at UBC, where I was able to volunteer in two wet labs during my third year. With the help of this experience, I was hired for a co-op position in a clinical lab at BC Children’s Hospital.
