Biography

Hello, I’m Samadhee! I did my undergrad in Environmental Sciences at UBC and I’m now a Master’s student in the Faculty of Forestry. My first research project was through URO’s REX program in first year. I love exploring the different areas of my interdisciplinary degree, so my projects after REX have varied in topic. They include ecology and population dynamics, renewable energy, geomorphology and hydrology, and landslide susceptibility in BC. In my final year of undergrad, I did an honours thesis studying a retreating glacier in BC and its streamflow patterns. Currently, in my Master’s program, my research interests have shifted slightly to focus on forestry and hydrology. Working on a range of projects and taking courses in several faculties in my undergrad helped me better understand how diverse research in environmental sciences can be and discover my true interests!

In my spare time, I love being outdoors, hiking, gardening, playing the piano, and taking photos of whatever catches my attention! I’m so excited to be a research coach again this year and I’m always happy to chat about research!
